This 1 secret increased my course sales by 3x

If you have already started your business there is a trick that you can use to 3x your value per customer. So you are probably wondering okay, what is this trick?

It is called upselling.

What is upselling?

The simplest example of upselling is, going over to McDs and just ordering a simple burger, but then you are asked if you want fries with that.

If a Big Mac costs $6 and fries cost $2, then the total revenue would have increased by 20%!

In the course creation business, I have been using upsells as well as down-sells with great success.

If I sell a course for $49 and then another complimentary course for another $49, I will have effectively doubled my revenue.

But most people make this one mistake when using upsells

Think about if Mac D’s sold you a Big Mac and then upsold you another Big Mac. “Hello sir would you like a Big Mac with your Big Mac.” lol

If you are by yourself, one Big Mac would be more than enough, you wouldn’t really want to eat another Big Mac for the same meal unless you plan to have it later.

Fries would have a much greater chance of being upsold compared to another Big Mac.

Bring it back, most people sell courses or products that don’t really make sense to the main offer.

So I would sell a course, project, or service that compliments the main course that we launch. So if someone wants to learn a course on Generative AI, we would upsell a course on either Building AI Influencers or LangChain Chatbots, rather than a course on Computer Vision or Self-Driving Cars.

Is it making a bit more sense? Good!

Now you should also be aware of down-selling, order bumps, and cross-selling.
